Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Mondelia Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) is made from different varieties of organic olives. “Mondelia” is a reference to the name that was given to our town centuries ago: Munda, Mundulia, Mondelia, Montilla.
Our Extra Virgin Olive oils are 100% olive juice, an intense experience of aromas and flavour. At the beginning of November we harvested the olives directly from the tree, without falling to the ground. After a few hours they are milled in an oil mill located on the estate. The grinding is done cold, and after passing through the decanting tanks it is filtered and stored in inertized tanks before bottling.
We elaborate AOVES “monovarietales” from Picual, Hojiblanca, Arbequina and Picuda; as well as a natural coupage of picual and hojiblanca or other combinations. The latter is a fruity oil with hints of fig and herbs, well balanced between bitterness and spiciness, making it highly regarded.
Picual is a fruity green oil, with positive attributes of bitterness, spiciness and astringent that mellow over time, with hints of tomato and fig, and great character.
Hojiblanco is a fruity oil with a light apple flavour, giving hints of fresh herbs and almond, slightly bitter, although on spicy and sweet on occasions.
Picudo is intensely fruity, with a taste of green apple and almond, balanced between bitter and spicy.
The Arbequina variety gives a fruity oil, with a slight hint of apple and banana, fluid and sweet, with faint traces of bitter and spicy.
We provide these varieties in 500 ml or 250 ml bottles, with non-refillable stopper and anti-drip dispenser. We also provide family formats in 2 and 5 litre containers, as well as 2 and 5 litre tins. As a new feature we provide 3 litre bag-in-boxes keeping the Organoleptic characteristics unaltered.
